Collins Solicitors appoints Danielle Messenger as a Partner and Head of the Family Law Department

Watford-based Collins Solicitors is pleased to announce that Danielle Messenger has been appointed a Partner and Head of the Family Law Department. The promotion came into effect on 1st December.

Danielle has over 15 years’ experience specialising in all aspects of family law, with emphasis on resolving complex financial disputes arising from divorce and separation. She also advises on disputes which arise from co-habiting and pre-nuptial agreements.

Danielle’s practice includes advising on private children issues, including disputes surrounding arrangements for children, such as where a child will live, questions of access and relocation.

As a member of Resolution, Danielle abides by the code of practice to ensure that all family matters are handled in an amicable and non-confrontational manner.

Before joining Collins in May 2016, Danielle worked for leading regional firms in both Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire. She qualified as a solicitor in 2002.

Des Collins, Senior Partner of Collins Solicitors, commented: “The family law team at Collins goes from strength to strength, working across the full range of family law matters, and Danielle’s appointment as a partner reflects that. As an area of law which is continually changing, her wide range of experience will continue to ensure that our clients successfully navigate the challenges that they face.”

Danielle Messenger added: “I am thrilled to have been made a partner at such an exciting time for Collins Solicitors. There is a real buzz in the office as the infected blood public inquiry gains momentum and it is a privilege to work alongside the team doing such invaluable work.

However, my appointment as Partner demonstrates the firm’s clear commitment to other established practice areas and the growth in these disciplines. I am very fortunate to work within such a strong Family Team with breath of knowledge and experience across all family issues. This really sets our Family Department apart from other local practices.”

Notes to editors
Collins Solicitors’ Family and Children Law Department
The team has a wealth of practical professional experience and expertise, helping clients to make informed decisions and find solutions that best suit them and their children. It is committed to resolving disputes in a constructive, non-confrontational, affordable and efficient way. However, when the court process is needed or appropriate, we will take effective action.

With a reputation built on presenting clients with all the options available, guiding them through unfamiliar procedures, the team works with clients to minimise any adverse impact on children involved.

The family law department includes two Law Society Children’s Panel Members. Lawyers in the team are Members of Resolution, Lexcel accredited (the UK Law Society’s practice management standard), holders of the Legal Services Commission Specialist Quality Mark and recommended in both the UK Legal 500, 2019 and Chambers UK, 2020 – with solicitor Donna Downes highlighted as a “Star Associate”.
Despite recent UK changes to the scope of public funding, Collins continues to offer public funding to clients still entitled to it.
