Pedestrian knocked down on zebra crossing receives compensation

A 63-year-old man who was knocked down by a car on a zebra crossing has been awarded £1,500 compensation.

The pedestrian was hit on his right hand side as he walked across the road. He fell on to the bonnet of the car before hitting the ground on his left hand side. He sustained soft tissue injuries to the left side of his body and right leg, and bruising to the left thigh and lower back. All the injuries had healed within eight weeks of the accident.

He took legal action claiming the driver had been negligent in driving without due care and attention. The driver admitted liability.

The pedestrian received £1,500 compensation in an out-of-court settlement to cover his pain, suffering and loss of amenity.
